The Chimney Sweeper

The Chimney Sweeper is an experimental typographic animation based on the opening stanza of William Blake's poem of the same name.

Created for a postgraduate typography course at Hacettepe University, the work combines moving typography and animation to interpret the rhythm, atmosphere, and meaning of the poem through motion.

When my mother Died, I was very young,
And my father sold me while yet my tongue,
Could scarcely cry weep weep weep weep,
So your chimneys I sweep & in soot I sleep.
